A girl does not want to write a lab report on a day like today.
A girl does not want to sit inside and make graphs on a computer when it is 70 degrees outside and sunny.
The birds are chirping for goodness sakes! They’re calling her to join them!
A girl wants to go for a walk and smile at every passing stranger. She wants to ride her bike through the neighborhoods shouting “The spring is coming! The spring is coming!”. She wants to build a stage of sunflowers and dance atop it for the world to see. She wants to don a long flowing skirt, sit cross-legged in a field, and play her ukulele. She wants to sing songs of summer and of love and of friendship. She wants to fly like the birds! chirp chirp chirp.
A girl does not want to think about Biochemistry on a day like today. Biochemistry exists so that she can run and smile and dance!
But a girl can compromise. She can throw on some shorts, do her lab report outside on her porch, and smile at her passing neighbors.
She can be grateful for such a beautiful day, and for free time to enjoy it.
